• Alex heads for Mesopatamia
• He heads toward Persepolis
• Alex comes into Mesopatamia and meets the opposing forces near the river named Issus
• Darius is the king of Persia
• He had Greek mercenaries fighting on his side
• The frontline for Persia was archers
• He also had calvery storming to his left side
• Alex goes after the men who abandon Darius to get the people behind him
• He goes as far as the Hindu Tush mountains
• The man who betrayed him was Besis

• He got impaled
• He also got his tongue, ears, and nose cut off
• Alexander has his first defeat
• They though the world ended at Europe and India
• His army is being attacked daily
• He survives a fatal arrow to the lung
• He gets a bad oman about going further to the east
• He practically turns into a Perian
• He comes to the ancient city of Babylon
• He died from a fever at the age of 32
• He split the empire between the generals
• The generals like to fight
• The Seleucid empire is the eastern remnant of Alexander's empire
• Ptolemaic Egypt know the term. They will rule this part of Egypt up to Cleopatra
• This is called the Hellenistic age
