• They started in the 11th century
• The children's crusade failed miserably and many were killed
• France becomes France in this period
• In England the Normans rule to 1154 which they are then taken over by Plantagenet
• There is a lot of Gothic architecture in England
• Morocco is Muslim
• The Muslims rule the country for 700 years
• Library burns, Constantinople is taken over by Islams
• The goal of the crusades was supposed to be to get Jerusalem back
• They made the Muslims their enemies
• The Islamic people are going through a Renaissance
• The Europeans realize that when they have been losing knowledge, the Moors in Spain have vast knowledge of all this stuff
• Aristotle introduced that logic defeated superstition
• The Anglo-Saxon spoke Anglo-Saxon, not English
• You mix Anglo-Saxon and Old French and you get English
• They Europeans also brought Christianity and the Latin language
