We should definitely not be trying to come in contact with other alien life forms. If this happens and they come to earth we are royally screwed to say the least. The odds of aliens having better technology than us is almost 100%. The aliens might even want to eat us, we do not know. Since we do not know we should not hurry to find out because if you do not understand it it is better left unknown. The odds of other life not being out there is almost 0%, but because we do not know what they are or where they come from we should not try to come in contact with them. In almost every movie or sighting they are described as having spaceships that can fly at light speed. We do not even have that. Think of all the weapons and other technology they have. Some things are better left unknown and this is one of them.
