- They were seeking for lost secrets of the ancient world
- The knowledge was carried back to Florence
- Florence in the year 1400 was a major trading center which was a Republic
- The Medici bank was a business that was run by Cosmo's father

- A pirate wanted a fund from them to go in the Vatican or even the Pope (Casa)
- In 1410 he was elected Pope John the 23rd
- They become known as God's bankers
- For 100 years an unfinished cathedral was in Florence

- In 1419 a new orphanage became a showcase for his ideas
- He brought the idea of columns back into Europe
- He would have to rewrite the rules of western architecture
- The recipe for concrete had been lost in the fall of Rome

- In 1429 Cosimo's father died
- The Albestie family was the enemies of the Medici
- He was summoned to the palace of government in 1430
- He was there for torturing and answers
- They needed the vote of the people to execute him
- They found him guilty but his life was spared
- He pared a hefty bribe to his jailer to let him out
- Fillip Brunelleschi was thrown in jail and work on the dome was stopped

- He continued the work on the dome
- The Medici bank was now the most profitable business in Europe
- He would let his workers do whatever they wanted as long as they did the work they were commissioned to
- Fillip invented linear perspective which made a three dimensional space

- Giovanni started the bank and Cosimo was his son
- Lorenzo rode on ahead to ensure safe passage for his father
- They were in search of allies outside the lines of Florence
- He got married so the Medici family gained a lot of military power
- He gets sick
- Lorenzo was now the leader of the Medici family
- He offered help to the poor people of Tuscany
- He became a part of the procession of the Magi
- He let other people come and visit in his palace
- He called his work la primavera
- The Patsy are the second richest family
- The Patsy wanted to eliminate the Medici
- 1478 on Easter the Medici and all of Florence gathered to celebrate

- Lorenzo got wounded but was not dead
- The supporters of the Medici wanted revenge
- The Pope had ordered troops to kill all the Medici family members
- He rode south to try to negotiate with his enemies

- The enemy troops were called off and Lorenzo saved Florence from destruction

- The Dominican Monk damned Lorenzo even though he wanted salvation
- At the age of 43 Lorenzo died fearing Hell to his last breathe
- Botticelli did a lot of apocalyptic paintings
- Savonarola was the monk
- H would burn homosexuals and beat prostitutes
- They burned all of Lorenzo's accessories
- Even Botticelli joined in on the burning and hurled his own paintings into the flames
- The bonfire of the vanities was what this was called
